Web Camera Captures
A web camera (or webcam) is a real-time camera whose images can be accessed using the World Wide Web,
instant messaging, or a PC video calling application. Generally, a digital web camera delivers
images to a web server, either continuously or at regular intervals.
As with the Fingerprint
Scanner, your students will be prompted to enter a baseline image from their web camera after
installing the Ergotest™ Proctor software. During the examination,
the web camera will automatically turn on and begin taking pictures of the student. The capture
rate can be set according to your specifications, allowing you to measure your student's identity
every 5 seconds or every 5 minutes.
When the exam is complete, these images are packaged and uploaded to the server along with the
student's examination, becoming a permanent part of the examination record. This way, if
there's ever any question about who took a particular examination, your administrators can review
the images to verify the student's identity.
Ergotest Authentication - Customized Add-Ons
ID Card Scanners
Chances are, your institution is already using an ID Card scanner to monitor your students' use
of common resources. Ergotest™ can be customized to integrate ID Card scanners
into its interface, allowing your students to authenticate on the system using their existing
University identification. To learn more about integrating your institution's ID Card system
into the Ergotest™ platform, please contact us at
