Why Multifactor Authentication?
The methods by which a user can authenticate themselves into a standard IT biometric system are
generally classified into three cases:
As shown from the examples
given above, requiring only one method of authentication leaves your system open to attack from
outside users. ID cards can be stolen or forged, passwords can be cracked, and even voice patterns
and signatures can be duplicated. By requiring multiple forms of user identification, you
can dramatically increase the security of your system, ensuring that
the people taking examinations at your institution are truly who they say they are.
Ergotest™ currently offers a three major biometric authentication measures, each of which
(with the exception of password-protection) can be enabled or disabled at the client’s
discretion. Additional authentication measures can be added to your system in a customized
installation. This allows you to tailor the level of security on your system to meet your
institution’s own particular needs.
